Time-resolved photoemission and RIXS study of a site-selective Mott insulator

چکیده

Inspired by the physics of rare earth nickelates, we study photoemission (PES) and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra a correlated electron system with two types insulating sublattices. Sublattice A is characterized hybridization gap low-spin state, while sublattice B features Mott local magnetic moment. We show how coupling these qualitatively different states affects dynamics photo-induced charge carriers nonequilibrium manifest themselves in PES RIXS signals. In particular, find that created on migrate to sublattice, where they contribute creation in-gap signal, characteristic peaks spectrum. While contributions from sublattices cannot be easily distinguished spectrum, weights signals two-dimensional $\omega_\text{in}$-$\omega_\text{out}$ space provide information state evolution both

An Angle Resolved Photoemission Study of a Mott Insulator and Its Evolution to a High Temperature Superconductor*

One of the most remarkable facts about the high temperature superconductors is their close proximity to an antiferromagnetically ordered Mott insulating phase. This fact suggests that to understand superconductivity in the cuprates we must first understand the insulating regime. Due to material properties the technique of angle resolved photoemission is ideally suited to study the electronic st...

Femtosecond dynamics of electronic states in the Mott insulator 1T-TaS2 by time resolved photoelectron spectroscopy

Photoexcitation of the Mott insulator 1T-TaS2 by an intense laser pulse leads to an ultrafast transition toward a gapless phase. Besides the collapse of the electronic gap, the sudden excitation of the charge density wave (CDW) mode results in periodic oscillations of the electronic states. We employ time resolved photoelectron spectroscopy to monitor the rich dynamics of electrons and phonons ...

Angle-resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy Study on the Surface States of the Correlated Topological Insulator YbB6

YbB6 is recently predicted to be a moderately correlated topological insulator, which provides a playground to explore the interplay between correlation and topological properties. With angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, we directly observed almost linearly dispersive bands around the time-reversal invariant momenta and with negligible kz dependence, consistent with odd number of surfac...

testing plays a vital role in any language teaching program. it allows teachers and stakeholders, including program administrators, parents, admissions officers and prospective employers to be assured that the learners are progressing according to an accepted standard (douglas, 2010). the problems currently facing language testers have both practical and theoretical implications but the first i...
